For a small handful of people who knew they couldn’t let the rest of 2015 slip away without making it count, it was a morning that can be described as anything but ordinary.
But opportunities like this are what we live for and they don't come around often. There was no way in hell we were going to miss it. Sunrise or not, whether it was 2 of us or 200 of us, we'd be up there, waiting on it.
We’ve learned that when you bring together the type of people that are willing to put themselves out there, who aren’t afraid of a little challenge and who are willing to venture into the unknown for no sake other than adventuring, it doesn't matter if things don't go exactly as planned.
With the right people, nothing but good things come from it.
When you push the limits of an idea you believe in, when you are willing to keep going when it gets uncomfortable, and when you aren’t willing to take no for an answer, that’s when the good stuff happens.
That’s when things like Tahoe happen...
At 4:45AM this morning, we gave a handful of people the keys to the city, bringing them 550 feet above for a morning of candlelight yoga, sunrise meditations and some of the most surreal view of Vancouver.
In true CS style, they experienced more by 9AM than most will in their entire day.
At CS, we live by a simple rule: experience more by 9AM than most do in their entire day.
Staying true to that, we showed up by the hundreds to spend our (very early) morning climbing for an hour through the dark while the rest of the city slept.
350+ Canadians standing on the edge of the world, surrounding by the sounds of our anthem as the sun begins to crack over the horizon.
Passion, pride, and appreciation for what this country has given us travelling down from the top of the mountain. All of them joining together to kick Canada Day off like it's never been done before.
Happy Birthday Canada! That will be a party none of us never, ever forget.
On May 14th and 15th, we put 50 "strangers" on a bus and sent them into the unknown for a weekend of adventure, outdoors, and all things CS.
With no other info than what to pack and what time they had to show up, they showed up at 6AM at the MEC head office, boarded a bus, and headed into Manning Park for the first ever #Chasecamp.
