As winter begins to come into sight, we are partnering up with our friends from MEC to provide the community with an education session on appropriate layering and gear for winter adventures.
The session will be put on by Pemberton-local Naomi Proshaka – the youngest person to summit Mount Logan, Canada’s tallest peak – and her father who is a well-respected alpinist and climber.
During the session, you will learn about what kind of gear and layering is optimal for winter trekking and alpine exploring, as well as learn about the different types of winter camping gear, shelter, and layering techniques that’ll keep you warm and safe.
It’s happening October 4th, from 7PM to 8:30PM at the MEC in North Vancouver.
Spots are limited, so if you’re committed, RSVP below.
Date: October 4th
Time: From 7PM to 8:30PM
Where: North Vancouver MEC store (212 Brooksbank Ave)
Due to space limitations and planning, I'll need to know if you're coming, so if you could RSVP that would be awesome!
