As summer finishes off and fall begins to set in, we're sending the crews out for a few last trips of trailbuilding – this time, partnering up with BC Parks and the Friends of Garibaldi Park Society to do an overnight trailbuild up in Taylor Meadows.
To make sure all the work gets done before winter comes, they are running two much needed trips – one on September 15/16 and another on September 22/23.
For each trip, they are looking to rally a crew of 15 people, and I have no doubt we can run those numbers with Chasing Sunrise!
Each day, you'll be putting in work making sure Taylor Meadows stays prime and spending the night camping out in Taylor Meadows campsite.
If you're down to get out with us and put in some seriously needed work, we'd be stoked to have you out there.
Come for one or come for both, but either way, let's make this count.
Details are below.
Trip 1: Saturday, Sept 15th (7AM) to Sunday, Sept 16th (7PM)
Trip 2: Saturday, Sept 22nd (7AM) to Sunday, Sept 23rd (7PM)
What: Building out the trail in Taylor Meadows and spending the night camping up there.
Trail: We will hike up the Garibaldi Lake Trail starting at the Rubble Creek Parking Lot. It is approximately 7.5KM to Taylor Meadows and all trail information can be found here.
Required Gear: Bring personal gear for two days of work and one night of camping. Bring tough hiking boots (no running shoes for trail work).
All participants will be required to sign a BC Parks and Friends of Garibaldi Park Society Volunteer Service Agreement.
If you are down to join the crew, get a little dirty, and put in two solid days of work that will make a huge difference, we'd be stoked to see you out there.
Work like this helps make sure we keep these places as pristine as possible, while being able to handle the increasing number of people that are showing up.
