This December, as the new year turns over, we're escaping the rain and flying into the Kingdom of Morocco for nine days of exploring, adventure, surfing, and retreating.

During the trip, we'll be exploring the city and culture of Marrakech, 4x4ing into the Sahara desert to spend New Years at a private Moroccan Berber camp, and hanging out on the coast of Tamraght for three days of surfing, yoga, and self-exploration.

The whole trip will be underpinned with a series of mindful workshops that will help guide you in the exploration of creative self-expression in your life, focusing on self-reflection, self-alignment, goal-setting and foundation building for 2019.

If you're yearning for a mix of out-there adventure, rad humans, and the kind of work that will get you more clear on what you want from life, take a read through and leave your sign-up below.

Based on community interest in this trip and the limited number of spots, we are allocating on a lottery basis, explained below.
If you're in, read through all the details and sign up below.

Spend two days exploring the city of Marrakech. Explore the famous Marrakech Souks (markets), check out the numerous mosques, learn about and take in Moroccan culture, and visit the Marrakech bath houses.

4x4 into the Sahara desert and spend New Years Eve at a private Moroccan Berber camp. You'll ring in 2019 under the stars, at the base of the sand dunes, with some pretty rad humans.

You'll be taken on a three-day surf and explore retreat in Tamraght. All your gear and lessons will be covered and will be complimented with daily yoga session, communal meals, and daily workshops.

Mixing adventure with growth, the trip offers a series of mindful workshops that will help guide you in the exploration of creative self-expression in your life. The workshops will focus on self-alignment, self-reflection, goal-setting and foundation building for 2019.

Explore the Moroccan country side with a local Moroccan guide, checking out numerous villages, local gems, and adventure spots along the way. We include a variety of adventure options to choose from to make it something that fits exactly what you want from the trip.

We know that most experiences are better when they are shared with people you care about. Community is at the heart of everything we do with Chasing Sunrise and throughout the trip we will be investing in building community between the people on the trip.

We believe in building relationships with local explorers and guides and getting immersed in their culture. This whole trip will be guided by our Morrocan-born local guide, along side the Chasing Sunrise team.

Protecting where we play, we'll be joining forces with the team at The Lunar Surf House and putting on a beach cleanup to help ensure we leave the spaces we go to better than we found them.

We work to take care of all the details so that you can maximize the time you have. This trip features comfortable accommodation, private vehicles for transport, and awesome guides and crews.

Meet Adil – Our Local Host

Rather than transplanting ourselves into another country and seeing it from the outside, we believe in building relationships with local explorers and guides and getting immersed in their culture.

This whole trip will be guided by our Morrocan-born local guide named Adil who runs Barefoot Trips, as well as The Lunar Surf House – one of Morocco's top rated places to stay. Throughout the trip, Adil will guide us through Morocco, sharing local spots and a local's perspective of the country.

Your Journey Back Home (or not...)

The trip will conclude the morning of January 6th, but feel free to stay in Marrakech as long as you want, or team up with some of the crew and explore the rest of the continent.

This trip was dreamed and schemed up by Amy Tanner and was designed to bring together the best elements that make up travel – adventure, exploration, community, foreign lands, culture, and growth. It was designed to be a trip that gives us the flexibility to choose the kind of adventure we want and the space to chill out and set the foundation for the year ahead. It was designed to learn about different cultures and ourselves, while pulling ourselves out of the elements of our day-to-day.

We only get so much time to go on these trips, so we work to take care of all the details so that you can maximize the time you have. This trip features comfortable accommodation, private vehicles for transport, awesome guides and crews, and a variety of exploration and adventure options to choose from to make it something that fits exactly what you want from the trip.

We try to incorporate as many inclusions as possible so that you know exactly what you're getting yourself into and don't have to worry about the details.

Life is too short to stay on the mainstream path. We've curated the trip to show you an authentic side of Morocco, with even the most experienced travellers being able to find inspiration and a new perspective from the experience.

Rather than transplanting ourselves into another country and seeing it from the outside, we believe in building relationships with local explorers and guides and getting immersed in their culture. Our guide has a passion for exploring and knowledge of Morocco's history, ensuring you not only see the sights, but experience what "Morocco" is all about.

Responsible travel practice is at the heart of every program that we offer in Morocco. When you book one of our adventures you are supporting sustainability in the region's natural environments, local communities and cultures.

Minimal Environmental Impact
As part of our belief in Protecting Where We Play, we work with companies that believe in our philosophy of having minimal environmental impact. From re-usable water bottles to conserving water in the desert, we are committed to making a minimal environmental impact on our trips.

Animal Welfare
We advocate for cruelty-free animal welfare. Our guides, cooks and muleteers are trained to follow good practice in relation to the use of mules and camels, they have the power to add extra mules or camels when required.

Support of Local Communities
From local guides to local riads and camps, we work to support local suppliers and business whenever we can on these trip. We rotate through small local businesses to spread the revenue derived from tourism, and encourage travellers to purchase their goods from the same.

Do I have to be from Vancouver to join in on this?
