Chasing Sunrise is a community that understands that with each sunrise, we are given a choice to make: we can either stay in bed waiting for life to come to us or we can get up and get after it, chasing what we want.

We choose the latter because we want more out of life.

More experiences. More adventures. More mind-blowing memories.

We want to be able to look back  and whisper to ourselves “damn, that was awesome".

We want to experience things few others get to.

And we want to see the world differently.

That's why we rise hours before dawn, hiking mountains, finding roof tops or windows with a view where can get to just in time to watch the sun peak over the horizon.

We are a community that doesn’t just rise to the occasion, we rise before it.

Hours before it.

We are Chasing Sunrise.

Canada Day 2016

Picture this: your alarm goes off at 12:45am. You hear people coming home from the bar outside your window. You get out of bed, grab your headlamp and hiking shoes and meet your friends downstairs to head to a mountain – in the pitch black.

Grab a coffee on your way to the 2:30AM meet-up time – an hour that seems insane to most. But for the 800 strangers willing to endure it together, it was a morning they won't soon forget.

While the city slept, hundreds stood on top of the world, overlooking the country and land that lay before them – all anticipating sunrise after an hour and half long hike through the cold, dark wilderness of Mount Seymour.

Energy, anticipation, and excitement buzzing around them.

Then from the back, as the sun begins to rise a voice from the back yells out the words "O' Canada...".

Within seconds, the words are echoed by everyone around, all joining in to kick Canada Day off bigger and better than ever.

Their passion, pride, and appreciation for what this country has given them travelling down from the mountains across the Vancouver landscape...

This was a Canada Day that this country will never, ever forget!

Words will hardly do justice. Maybe these pictures will come close.

Chasecamp 2016

On May 14th and 15th, we put 50 "strangers" on a bus and sent them into the unknown for a weekend of adventure, outdoors, and all things CS.

With no other info than what to pack and what time they had to show up, they showed up at 6AM at the MEC head office, boarded a bus, and headed into Manning Park for the first ever #‎Chasecamp.

Words will never do it justice, but this little teaser might give you an idea.

We're scheming up our next event.
